Tailoring house Cifonelli unveils Morocco inspired collection

The family-run tailoring house Cifonelli unveiled its newest Spring/Summer collection, a magnificent tribute to Morocco that drew inspiration from the country’s numerous features, including vibrant souks, deserts, the shores of Essaouira, and the Bedouin culture.

The collection, which was curated with two separate themes in mind that incorporate the relaxed dunes of Marrakech and the essence of Essaouira, was creatively curated by Cifonelli CEO Lionel Peralta.

According to Peralta, quoted on Forbes, the collection reflects Morocco’s dynamic culture, and the team’s immersive experience there served as inspiration for the tailored pieces.

Earthy hues that evoke the scenery of Morocco permeate the color scheme, harmonizing with elaborate patterns that draw inspiration from regional artistic talent. The collection captures the spirit of Morocco in every stitch, reflecting the beauty and diversity the design team experienced during their travels, believes the CEO.

The collection featured sophisticated sharp suits inspired by Essaouira’s color palettes like heather grey and navy, as well as laid-back shapes such as pastel pink, and neutral hues to evoke the Marrakech dunes.

The collection is elevated by a deliberate material selection that emphasizes breathable linens and light kinds of cotton. In an interview with Forbes, Peralta stated that these fabrics not only emphasize comfort during the warmer months but also highlight Cifonelli’s unwavering dedication to using the best materials possible.

Peralta claims that the brand’s hallmark aesthetic—which combines classic elegance with a contemporary edge—is best embodied by the Spring/Summer 2024 collection. Every item has a carefree charm that eloquently combines traditional craftsmanship with cutting-edge design.

Regarding shapes, the central piece of the collection is the renowned Marbeuf Jacket from the brand, which features the iconic French shoulder that has come to be associated with Cifonelli.

Morocco’s landscapes have always served as a great inspiration to several brands, such as Dior, Pepsi, and Adidas.
