The Oscar winning director Martin Scorsese, who released his long-awaited feature film on indigenous Osage tribes “Killers of the flower moon” not long ago, has announced working on an 80 minutes long film on Jesus, to “take away from the negatives of organized religion.”
Dealing with religious themes isn’t new in Scorsese’s world, as he made « The last temptation of Christ » in 1988.
What’s unusual is making an 88 minutes long film, after having directed very long movies his entire life. For instance, his latest film is three hours and a half long.
Several media reports suggest that the 81 years old director plans to start shooting this year.
« A life of Jesus » will mostly be set in the present day, as the director doesn’t want to be locked in a certain period.
Scorsese has already finished writing the screenplay, but no further details have been unveiled.
