The second iteration of the African Book Fair of Marrakech, « FLAM » will come back in February for four days.
Prior to the event, the festival president, renowned author Mahi Binebine, and general delegate Younes Ajarraï will hold a press release in Casablanca on January 9th to unveil this edition’s program, themes, and invited authors.
FLAM’s 2023 was of great success, with the participation of 40 writers and cultural actors from 25 countries. It attracted over 8.000 participants and was followed by more than 30.000 people.
This year, Jean Marie Gustave Le Clezio, holder of the Nobel literature prize, is becoming the festival’s honorary president.
Faithful to its wish to bring together different artistic disciplines in the service of literature, FLAM has chosen to invite the Malian artist Abdoulaye Konat to illustrate this edition’s poster.
Abdoulaye Konaté is a great figure of visual arts in Mali and Africa, recognized worldwide with exhibitions in all continents.
Merging between tapestry, tailoring, painting and sculpture, he makes fabric his main creative material and draws his inspiration from both African spirituality and universal culture.
