After enduring difficult circumstances, the second batch of Moroccans stranded in Gaza passed through the Rafah crossing into Egyptian territory, which was preceded by long suffering due to the absence of a Moroccan representative from the Kingdom’s embassy in Cairo, Hespress has learned from one of the stranded individuals.
The same source said, “All the Moroccans stranded at the Rafah crossing, whose number reached 60 individuals, passed on Sunday, after the presence of the Moroccan delegate, who made sure that the entire batch passed.”
The Hespress source added that “The group passed in full, except one Moroccan, who was rejected by the security authorities in Egypt, due to his affiliation to a security agency in the Gaza Strip, which is likely to be affiliated with the ‘Hamas’ movement.”
The first batch of Moroccans stranded in Gaza crossed into Egyptian territory in the middle of November, before the rest experienced serious difficulties while attempting to join the other side.
A few days ago, Hespress learned that the same individuals who now successfully crossed to safety were stranded in Gaza, awaiting the arrival of a representative from the Moroccan embassy in Egypt to complete their repatriation procedures.
However, for those holding Moroccan nationality, the transfer process was hampered more than once due to the absence of those in charge.
In light of the tragic events in Gaza, the Moroccan embassy in Ramallah confirmed the death of two Moroccans in the Gaza Strip due to Israeli bombings.
