The death toll in Gaza amid continuous Israeli airstrikes since October 7 has risen to 6,546, according to a statement from the Hamas-affiliated Ministry of Health on Wednesday.
“The toll of the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip has reached 6,546 martyrs, including 2,704 children, 1,584 women, and 364 elderly individuals, in addition to 17,439 citizens injured with various wounds,” the Ministry of Health reported.
UNICEF Regional Director for the MENA region Adele Khodr described the situation as a “growing stain on our collective conscience,” warning that unless the fighting ceases, the death toll is expected to grow.
