Wednesday 18 October 2023 - 23:20

The second edition of the PAGE (Partnership For Action On Green Economy) Green Crossroads Conference will be held in Rabat, Morocco, from October 24 to 26, 2023, at the “Tour Hassan” hotel, and will bring together leaders, decision-makers, and experts to discuss the challenges and opportunities associated with Morocco’s transition to a green economy.

Morocco, which is firmly committed to economic and social transformation aimed at achieving long-term development, is a driving force behind the PAGE initiative.

The Kingdom joined the partnership in 2019, and began implementation in April 2021 under the supervision of the Ministry of Energy Transition and Sustainable Development (MTEDD), in close consultation with the parties involved.

This program, funded by five United Nations organizations, demonstrates Morocco’s commitment to a greener, more inclusive future.

PAGE Green Crossroads 2023 aims to stimulate reflection and accelerate the transition to a green economy in Morocco.

The upcoming conference shall present the PAGE mechanism, to mobilize decision-makers, create platforms for debate, strengthen synergies, increase the visibility of the actions carried out, and raise awareness among the media community of issues relating to green economy.

The conference will bring together high-level participants from October 24 to 26, including delegates from PAGE, the UN, the Moroccan government, and significant contributors. The conference will begin with a plenary session that is available to the public with registration and will be streamed live on social media.

Following the inaugural plenary, a working session will start, concentrating on important topic areas for the shift to a green economy. Each subject session will be planned in collaboration with one of the five UN organizations taking part in PAGE, ensuring fruitful and lively conversations.

The conference will cover a wide range of important topics, including the macroeconomic implications of the shift to a green economy, green and climate finance, learning about the inclusive green economy, sustainable waste management, the decarbonization of industry, green jobs, skills, and entrepreneurship for the shift to a green economy, access to renewable energy, energy production, as well as the management of water, biodiversity, and natural resources.
