Morocco’s Ministry of Health announced the implementation of the health vigilance system to counter any possibility of a bedbugs leaking into national soil, in light of the outbreak in France.
The Ministry said that it has taken the initiative, in coordination with various public authorities intervening in the field of health surveillance at the border, to activate the system of health vigilance and proactive monitoring in anticipation of any infiltration and spread of bedbugs.
A statement from the Ministry stated that it is reacting pre-emptively to an alert issued yesterday at the Tanger-Med port, regarding a ship coming from the French port of Marseille on October 2, after suspicion of the presence of bed bugs in the crew cabin.
“Result of the inspection showed the absence of any insect on board the ship, including bedbugs,” said the Ministry.
