In light of the allegations that a French Algerian teacher in Descartes had sexual relationships with a student, Moroccans on social media are calling out the authorities to further investigate the deal as well as imposing visas on French citizens coming to Morocco.
The allegations turn around a French Algerian teacher, who is associated with the French agency for teaching abroad, who is working in the famous French mission school Descartes.
The controversy erupted when now deleted tweets talked about the close relationship between the teacher and a female student, whose rumored relations with him started when she was 14.
A source told Hespress EN that the teacher taught English and that he was the kind of person to follow students on socials and get close to them.
The source said that he did indeed date the student in question until she decided to break up with him and address the matter with the administration.
On X, several Moroccans called for an in-depth investigation in this regard and shared a press release by the French mission school, Descartes of Rabat, in which the school says “A teacher exchanged messages with a high school student whose content was unacceptable. We condemn them with the greatest firmness. To date, this personal teacher under local law is no longer part of the establishment’s staff and the management is in close contact with the family. Signed by Francois Cuilhe, Principal of Descartes.”
X user CherkaouiZara said, “We ask @DGSN_MAROC to intervene, France is trying to harm the Kingdom, 1-prohibits the wearing of the veil in missions here in Morocco, 2-brings French pedophiles and mentally ill people as teachers to harm the conviction of Moroccans.”
Several Descartes parents are concerned for the well-being of their children in the institute
