Following a meeting with Minister of Justice Abdellatif Ouahbi, 18 social workers have been deployed to assist quake victims with legal and administrative services.
On Saturday, in the Tamaloukte community of the Taroudant province, the Ministry of Justice’s social workers were tasked with legal reconstruction for families that have misplaced their identification papers.
The ministry instructed the Social Assistance Group for Legal Guidance for the Benefit of Earthquake Victims to approach the afflicted citizens and speak to them in Amazigh.
The ministry’s guidelines are designed to help the locals by establishing a personal connection with them and offering support in their native tongue to facilitate communication.
The Social Assistance Group’s operation to recover lost documents—such as marriage contracts, identification cards, civil status records, and property contracts—that were buried beneath the debris started on Friday.
Ouahbi suggested hastening the processes so they can have the necessary documentation as soon as feasible, so that most residents of the afflicted areas receive the social assistance and support services.
The meeting with social workers was to outline and standardize their assistance for people impacted by the earthquake and to simplify the processes for obtaining new documents from the relevant authorities and listing families who have lost their paperwork.
