The Royal Moroccan Navy rescued this Saturday in its waters a total of 134 Senegalese migrants who were trying to migrate irregularly to Spain by sea, diplomatic sources informed the state Senegalese Press Agency ( APS).
Among the migrants rescued last night were three sick people who were evacuated to the hospital, the sources, who wanted to remain anonymous, detailed last Saturday to the APS.
According to the testimonies of the migrants themselves, their boat left the town of Fass Boye, in the Senegalese region of Thiès (west).
This group of people will join the hundreds of Senegalese citizens who are waiting to return these weeks to their country from the city of Dakhla.
Repatriation operations by the Senegalese authorities continued yesterday with the departure of a group of 208 Senegalese towards Rosso, a city in northern Senegal on the border with Mauritania.
On July 27, the Senegalese Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported that, after a mission in Dakhla on July 25 and 26, with the aim of supporting its nationals awaiting repatriation, more than 50 injured compatriots returned in a special flight of the Senegalese Air Force.
