Lizzo gets sued for sexual harassment
Wednesday 2 August 2023 - 15:12

Former backup dancers Arianna Davis, Crystal Williams, and Noelle Rodriguez filed a lawsuit against American artist Lizzo on Tuesday.

The defendants in the lawsuit are Lizzo, Quigley and her production company Big Grrrl Big Touring. The allegations contain sexual harassment, creating a toxic workplace, body shaming,  false detention, and interfering with potential financial gain.

The complaint filed in Los Angeles alleges that three of Lizzo’s tour dancers accused the singer of harassing them on many occasions between 2021 and 2023 based on their race, religion, and sexual orientation.

The dancers also claimed that Lizzo, an advocate for body positivity and self-love, had reprimanded one dancer for gaining weight, then dismissed that dancer for filming a meeting.

Furthermore, Lizzo allegedly forced one of her dancers to touch a nude performer in an Amsterdam club. Shirlene Quigley, Lizzo’s dance captain, is accused in the lawsuit of projecting her Christian beliefs onto other performers, disparaging those who engaged in premarital sex, and talking about one performer’s virginity.
