Israel’s announcement of new settlement construction in Judea and Samaria in the West Bank caused delay in the Negev Summit, initially supposed to take place in Morocco in July.
Moroccan Minister of Foreign Affairs Nasser Bourita stated in June that “Morocco is committed to hosting the second Negev summit, stressing the need for an appropriate political context to achieve the desired results of the gathering.”
The forum will take place in Morocco in the next political entry, according to Bourita.
The Abraham Accords was the main topic of the Ministers’ meeting, which also talked about how to broaden the circle of normalization to include more important Middle Eastern and international partners as well as ways to improve relationships with those already included in the circle of peace.
Israel, the United States, Bahrain, Egypt, Morocco, and the United Arab Emirates are all members of the Negev Forum.
The first ministerial meeting was called by Yair Lapid, who was the foreign minister at the time, and it took place at Kibbutz Sde Boker in March 2022.
