Former Manchester United striker Cristiano Ronaldo has confirmed that he will not play in Europe again, and described the Saudi Pro League as being ‘better than the MLS’, according to ESPN.

The Portuguese superstar joined Saudi Arabian side Al-Nassr last December on a two-and-a-half-year deal following his exit from Manchester United.

The move led to a wave of big-name transfers such as Karim Benzema, N’Golo Kante and Roberto Firmino. Cristiano Ronaldo says that the door back to European football is “completely closed.” “I’m 100 per cent sure I won’t return to any European club,” the five-time Ballon d’Or winner confirmed.

“I opened the way to the Saudi league and now all the players are coming here. I won’t return to European football, the door is completely closed.”, ESPN reported.
