The enchanting French psychedelic rock group La Femme repeatedly uttered “Choukran” (thank you), expressing their sincere gratitude after giving a breathtaking performance that included both their greatest hits and exclusive sneak peeks from their upcoming album at the Jazzablanca music festival.

When La Femme took the stage for Jazzablanca’s opening night performance at the prestigious Casa Anfa venue, they were met by a crowd of ardent jazz fans, a tranquil ambiance, and towering skyscrapers. The band held the audience’s attention for an uninterrupted hour and a half with unflinching dedication.

The six band members, who were dressed in tasteful black and white, danced all night, effortlessly interacting with the audience.

La Femme’s fusion of cold wave and punk resounded through the ecstatic crowd as they began their musical voyage with their well-known hymn, “Ou Va Le Monde.” Teenagers and young adults made up the majority of the audience, who enthusiastically chanted along with each song’s lyrics to show their impassioned admiration.

As the performance progressed, the band presented a splendid set that included crowd favorites such as “Cocorado,” “Aloha Baby,” “Sacarella,” “Foutre le Bordel,” “Petit Taxi,” and “Sur La Plage.”

The two prominent female vocalists’ vocals blended beautifully with the compositions’ vintage undertones to raise Jazzablanca’s opening night to exceptional heights.

The six musicians demonstrated their talent while switching between a variety of instruments, including guitars, drums, flutes, and the piano.

La Femme’s devoted Moroccan fans, who were transfixed by the band’s performance, burst into cheerful applause at numerous points throughout the night that featured mesmerizing guitar solos.

In a departure from their upbeat and funky ambiance, La Femme transitioned into an emotionally charged performance of one of their cherished hits, “Elle ne t’aime pas.”

Internationally beloved, the French rock sensation, La Femme, has cultivated a dedicated fan base, thanks to their distinctive fusion of rock, pop, and psychedelic influences, which evidently resonated with Moroccan listeners as well.

Their music has an alluring charm, with enthralling melodies and tasteful stage productions that are expertly woven together with a special blend of retro and modern sounds.

Their ability to exhibit their skills with ease in one of the most prestigious jazz festivals in the world, Jazzablanca, was a testimonial to their artistry and knowledge.

The festivities in Casablanca promise two more days of diverse celebrations, featuring performances by renowned artists such as Beth Hart and Mika, leaving the audience eagerly anticipating the remarkable experiences yet to unfold.
