MOGA music festival returns to Essaouira this October
Wednesday 21 June 2023 - 23:50

After a very successful edition held last September, the MOGA music festival is coming back to the city of Essaouira from October fourth to October eighth.

Prior to this edition, MOGA was held in Portugal, bringing together nearly 15,000 festival-goers on the beaches of Costa da Caparica in early June.

The festival will return to Essaouira for a fifth time, the organizers have just joyfully announced. At the Sofitel Essaouira Mogador Golf & Spa, the event will be held, providing attendees with an immersive experience at the epicenter of electronic cultures.

In Essaouira just like in Caparica, MOGA Festival offers a unique experience by combining music with a rich program combining art, wellness, and food with events throughout the host city.

In 2022, theMOGA’s “OFF” program included the provision of surfboards by local surf schools, workshops around music, photo exhibitions by local artists, evenings in trendy places in the city, cooking classes, and more.

It offered a free concert at the Sqala in the Game of Thrones sets for the first time last year.

The “OFF” program will once more emphasize Souiri culture in its own unique style to provide festival visitors an opportunity to the city listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The festival will be held at the Sofitel Essaouira Mogador Golf & Spa, a major sponsor of the event, on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday (October 6, 7, and 8), with six stages located on the same property by the pool, in the gardens, or even in secret locations, a designer market, and a program that combines Moroccan and foreign artists.

According to the organizers, the itinerary will be revealed in the upcoming weeks.

The MOGA Festival was founded in Essaouira in 2016 and has since grown to become a symbol of the values of electronic music, nomadism, innovation, interchange, and discovery.

After being away for two years owing to the Covid-19 epidemic, the festival returned to its home country in October 2022, drawing a record-breaking 12,000 festival-goers and having an extraordinary impact on attracting tourists from all over the world.
