SpaceX has hired Kairan Quazi, a 14-year-old software engineer who impressed the company with his skills during the interview process.

Quazi, who will be joining the Starlink engineering team, expressed his excitement on LinkedIn and commended SpaceX for not judging him based on his age.

In a recent LinkedIn post, he stated, “I will be joining the coolest company on the planet as a software engineer on the Starlink engineering team. One of the rare companies that did not use my age as an arbitrary and outdated proxy for maturity and ability.”

Quazi, recently became the youngest person to graduate from Santa Clara University’s School of Engineering. He and his mother will be relocating from Pleasanton, California, to start working at SpaceX’s facilities in Redmond, Washington.
