King Mohammed VI urged Moroccan pilgrims to act as ambassadors of their homeland, its long standing civilization, and its identity, calling upon them to embrace openness and tolerance, and shun controversy, arguments, and any causes of disagreement.
On the occasion of the first group this year’s batch of Moroccan pilgrims embarking to the Holy Land, the king addressed them in a letter conveyed today, Friday, through Morocco’s Minister of Islamic Affairs Ahmed Taoufiq in the Rabat-Sale Airport.
His Majesty’s letter said: “Know that in this sacred place, you shall be ambassadors of your religion in a great season that embodies Islamic brotherhood and moderation both in belief and in behavior, rejects all manifestations of extremism and fanaticism, and shuns all that causes discord and aggression,” the letter said.
The Commander of the Faithful reminded them of the need to arm themselves with piety, which “is the best provision on this auspicious journey,” and to observe good manners in this great season.
He adds that Muslims should only focus on two great and complementary things; The Tawhid of Allah, the One and only, and embodying their unity and tight adherence to Him.
King Mohammed VI made it clear that God Almighty established Islam as the pillar of “Hajj”. He made it so that all the believers are equal and weigh the same on the balance within the Sacred House, Mina and Arafat, through performance of Ihram where there is no distinction and no disparity between them in any regard, not in terms of ranks nor destinies.
The King also reminded the Moroccan pilgrims in his message to perform the rituals with all discipline and commitment, and sincere response to the jurisprudence of Hajj with its pillars, duties, and Sunnahs, carrying out these rituals in compliance with Allah Almighty’s teachings.
On the other hand, the King called on Moroccan pilgrims to abide by the regulatory measures taken by the competent authorities in Saudi Arabia, who have “provided the All-Meciful’s guests with all the reasons for reassurance.”
Under the directives of King Salman bin Abdulaziz, The Kingdom hosting the Hajj and Umrah spared no efforts to make the Hajj season take place in its perfect conditions in terms of discipline, security and safety.
On this occasion, the Commander of the Faithful expressed his deep pride and praise for the brotherly relations between the Kingdom of Morocco and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and their peoples.
After King Mohammed VI congratulated the Moroccan pilgrims for performing this great duty, he called on them to “pray for your king who is entrusted with your homeland and your security, hoping that God will provide us with His help and success in all our development initiatives and our relentless endeavors to preserve Morocco’s sovereignty and unity, and that our beloved Morocco will remain a pioneer in Achieving dignity for our citizens and support the values of our brothers from Islamic and African countries on the path of progress, unity and development.”
