Moroccan international Noussair Mazraoui was targeted by Bayern Munich fans after showing support for his compatriot Zakaria Aboukhlal, following his controversy with Toulouse.
Last week, on the International Day against Homophobia, Aboukhlal shared a message on his social media explaining why he refused to participate in a match with Toulouse wearing the rainbow colors, which were meant to show support to the LGBTQ+ community.
Following the flurry of criticism Aboukhlal received, Mazraoui shared his social media post and commented “God bless you, my brother,” provoking criticism from Bayern Munich fans.
During Bayern’s game against RB Leipzig on Saturday, fans of the Bavarian team unveiled a banner reading “All colors are beautiful. In Toulouse, Munich and everywhere. Respect our values, Mazraoui.”
