The first edition of the African Television Series Festival has launched in the Senegalese capital Dakar with the participation of several African countries, including Morocco.
Morocco is represented in the official competition in the category of “Limited Series” through “Bghit Hyatek,” produced by Shawky Al-Ofir.
In addition to Morocco, the competition includes series from Cameroon, Togo, Benin, Côte d’Ivoire, Nigeria, Burkina Faso, the Central African Republic and South Africa.
In this first edition, which runs until May 6, 27 productions will be on display, three of which will be out of competition.
Senegalese producer and director Omar Sall chairs the jury of the first edition of this festival.
The jury includes actress and singer Natalie Verak (France), Professor of African Literature and Civilizations Ibrahima Wan (Senegal), actress and producer Amenata Diallo-Glies (Burkina Faso), as well as film producer Negeme Glasgow Maeda (Luxembourg).
