Women in Berlin, Germany will soon be allowed to go topless in the city’s public swimming pools, after the local government changed rules in response to a woman’s discrimination complaint.
The 33-year-old woman was asked by a supervisor at one of Berlin’s swimming pools to cover her breasts while swimming back in December 2022.
After refusing to comply, the employee asked her to leave the pool.
In reaction to the complaint, authorities agreed she had been victim of discrimination, and said that all visitors to Berlin’s pools were now allowed to enjoy the premises topless if they chose.
