King Mohammed VI, the Chairman of the Al-Quds Committee, called for a worldwide alliance of nations that value tolerance and coexistence to protect the City of Peace (Al Quds) and preserve its cultural heritage that belongs to all of humanity.
In a message delivered at a High Level Conference on the protection and support of Al Quds, the King emphasized the need for this alliance to protect the city and preserve its cultural heritage.
He highlighted the unique place Al Quds holds in the hearts of Arab and Muslim peoples and stressed the need for a global effort to defend the city. The King also spoke about the Bayt Mal Al-Quds Agency, the executive arm of the Al-Quds Committee, which has been working for over 25 years to support the city and preserve its cultural identity by carrying out various social and development projects.
The King emphasized the need for Arab and Islamic nations to pool their efforts in support of Al Quds. He affirmed Morocco’s constant commitment to the Palestinian cause, particularly the issue of Al Quds, and stressed that Morocco considers the protection of Al Quds to be a national cause and a principle of its foreign policy.
The King called for a just settlement of the Palestinian issue within the framework of international legality and the Two-State Solution. He emphasized the importance of respecting diversity and preserving Al Quds as a symbol of peaceful coexistence for all followers of monotheistic religions.
The King also stated that Morocco will continue to support international efforts to relaunch the peace process and to support the Palestinian National Authority. Finally, the King called for collective efforts to protect Al Quds against any violations that aim to alter its legal status.
