An estimated 1.27 million people marched in the streets of France on Tuesday against plans by President Emmanuel Macron to reform the pension system, interior ministry figures showed, a larger number than the last protests on January 19.
In Paris, the number of protesters was estimated at 87,000, higher than the 80,000 clocked last time, the ministry said, giving figures far below those of French trade unions which claimed 2.8 million people protested on Tuesday nation-wide.
