Speaker of the House of Advisors, Enaam Mayara, reiterated, during a meeting Monday in Rabat with the Speaker of the Yemeni House of Representatives, Sultan Said Al Barkani, Morocco’s support for the territorial unity of Yemen and its sovereignty.

Mayara noted, in this regard, the firm and constant adherence of the Kingdom to find the expected solutions to the crisis in Yemen which “threatens the security and stability of the entire region,” calling for joint efforts at the Arab and international levels to end the humanitarian crisis that the Yemeni people are experiencing and denounce the practices of the Houthi militias, said a statement from the Moroccan upper house.

Mayara also welcomed this meeting, which comes within the framework of fraternal ties between the two sister countries, while welcoming the level of their bilateral relations.

For his part, Said Al Barkani made a point of presenting his heartfelt thanks to Morocco for its support to Yemen at all levels, as well as for the efforts made by the Kingdom to alleviate the suffering of the Yemeni people and support their aspirations for the establishment of state institutions, according to the same source.

He mentioned, in this sense, the multiple facets of the suffering of the Yemeni people following the rebellion of the Houthi militias against the legitimate power and the continuation of their serious abuses, horrible crimes and violations of rights and freedoms.

The Speaker of the Yemeni House of Representatives did not fail, on this occasion, to reiterate the constant support of his country to the Moroccan Sahara, which he never ceases to express in all forums and international and regional forums.

During this meeting, concludes the statement, the two parties agreed on the need to consolidate their joint parliamentary action and coordinate their efforts to defend issues of common interest on the regional and international scenes.
