Canadian superstar Celine Dion has revealed that she has been diagnosed with a rare neurological disorder called stiff person syndrome (SPS).
In an emotional video posted to social media, Dion said that she had been dealing with health issues for a long time. “We now know [SPS] is what’s been causing all of the spasms that I’ve been having,” the singer said.
“Unfortunately the spasms affect every aspect of my daily life, sometimes causing difficulties when I walk and not allowing me to use my vocal cords to sing the way I’m used to,” she continued.
Dion has rescheduled upcoming shows in order to “concentrate on my health on this moment.”
