Moroccan actress Farah El Fassi shined in Spanish film festival ‘Locra’ after winning the best actress award for her role in ‘La mora’, a Moroccan production directed by Mohammed Ismail, who in his turn received a posthumous Special Mention from the Jury.
In an interview with Hespress EN, the actress expressed her joy after winning such a prestigious award.
“I never expected winning, and being the only Moroccan at the festival among worldwide known actresses with great careers makes me so thankful,” said the actress.
El Fassi admitted that she still believed in herself despite not expecting this glorious win.
What got the actress emotional is the late director Mohammed Ismail receiving a special mention for his work in ‘La Mora’.
El Fassi was among five actresses nominated, she hopes that Moroccans are pleased with this win.
“I am at my happiest because I made Moroccans proud at a such huge event, this matters to me the most,” expressed El Fassi.
She was present at the international film festival of Marrakech but had to leave to join Locra’s film festival in Spain, where she won the prestigious best actress award on November 19.
