The Ministry of Health recently licensed the Convidecia Air COVID-19 vaccine for use in Morocco.

Produced by Chinese laboratory Biologics, the vaccine is administered through the nose, and is the first non-injector vaccine available in Morocco.

The move comes days before the National Scientific and Technical Committee warned against the newly started COVID-19 a fifth wave in the country.

Members of the Scientific Committee for Vaccination against COVID-19 confirmed to Hespress AR that they had not been made aware of the subject.

The Directorate of Medicines of the Ministry of Health and Social Protection is authorized to license vaccines in the Kingdom, according to the the health professionals.

A source from the ministry told Hespress AR that this is a “routine process,” stressing that “any vaccine that trials prove useful is licensed.”

“Treatment by inhalation can achieve triple protection because it leads to a mucous immune response,” the vaccine-forming laboratory said in a report.

The same release noted that the vaccine has now been rolled out in China, including Shanghai, Tianjin and Jiangsu Province, “to help strengthen the protection of the Chinese population against COVID-19 and its variants through a more efficient needle-free, painless, non-surgical delivery method.”

The Scientific Committee for Vaccination against COVID-19 in Morocco has already confirmed that there are no concerns about the vaccine stockpile in Morocco.

Moroccans however, have stopped getting vaccinated , as the committee renews calls for citizens to resume the vaccination process.
