A smashed guitar that belonged to late grunge icon Kurt Cobain is expected to fetch USD200,000 to USD400,000, after going up on auction on Friday.
“This guitar was actually smashed in Williamsport, Pennsylvania, 1989,” executive director of Julien’s Auctions Martin Nolan told reporters. “He’s actually written on the guitar.”
In addition to the taped up instrument, which some consider a piece of rock and roll history, over 1,500 lots are included in the auction, including glasses worn by John Lennon, which are estimated to be worth USD80,000.
