The Public Prosecution Office in Casablanca will retain rapper ElGrande Toto under custody, pending a hearing scheduled for Wednesday afternoon.
Taha Fahsi, known as Toto, has not yet been put in provisional custody, but Hespress sources revealed that the judicial investigation against him has been completed, and that he is facing additional charges to what has been announced so far.
Hespress sources stated that Toto faces charges of “insult, slander, defamation, threats, public breach of modesty, drug consumption and incitement to do so, carrying out indecent acts, indecent speech, documenting and publishing these acts through communication platforms.”
The rapper was initially held in police custody after he responded to a summons on Monday, after a number of public personalities sued him over comments he made on social media.
Toto has been the center of controversy since late September, following his statements on drugs during a press conference that month.
Although he apologized and expressed his wish to see an amicable end to the dispute, the judicial investigation prompted the public prosecution to raise additional charges against the rapper.
