Morocco is expected to host Israeli-Arab Negev Forum officials by January, reported The Times of Israel media outlet on October 20.
In late March, Moroccan Foreign Affairs Minister Nasser Bourita from teased a potential diplomatic gathering of similar caliber and attendance in Western Sahara.
During the press conference speech, Bourita hoped the diplomats and officials “will meet again in the same spirit in another Sahara.”
Next month, the UAE will host the countries working groups, said the Times of Israel.
“The preparations for the upcoming Negev Forum meetings to bring Jordan into the fold have intensified for US and Middle Eastern diplomats,” further stated the same source.
This move comes as Jordan has been notably missing from Negev Forum gatherings, which have brought together representatives from the US, Israel, the UAE, Bahrain, Morocco, and Egypt.
The working groups agreed on meeting regularly during the year and submit their reports to the Coordinating Committee to support initiatives that strengthen regional integration, cooperation, and development for the benefit of the peoples of the region.
The last Negev summit was held in late June of this year, which took place in Bahrain.
The strengthening of diplomatic ties came after Israel and Morocco reached the trilateral Abraham accords agreement in December 2020, involving the US.
