Yemen reaffirmed, in New York, its firm position in support of the territorial integrity of Morocco and the Moroccanness of the Sahara, in accordance with the relevant UN resolutions.
Speaking before the members of the 4th Committee of the UN General Assembly, the representative of Yemen stressed that the government of his country welcomes the “sustained” efforts of the Kingdom of Morocco to achieve a just, lasting and compromise political solution to the Sahara issue.
He also welcomed the efforts of the Personal Envoy of the UN Secretary-General for the Sahara, Staffan de Mistura, to revive the political process to achieve a realistic and lasting political solution to this regional dispute, based on compromise and in accordance with the relevant Security Council resolutions.
