64% of Moroccan employees prefer telework as a full-time option rather than in-person, showed a recent survey study results issued by the Economic, Social and Environmental Council (CESE).

24 % of respondents consider the remote work mode as a temporary option, while 12% believe that remote work is a reason to stay at home, added the same source.

Additionally, over 81% of the targeted interviewees said the remote work mode saves money and time, mainly in transport.

More than half of the respondents said this mode helped them reduce stress, find more autonomy, better task management, and focus, according to the same source, which surveyed 1326 people for its findings.

Among the interviewees, 74% have already experienced teleworking mode, including 14% of them who have experienced this mode before the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, while over 71% have tried remote mode during the total lockdown period.

In this mode, 61% of respondents find the unlimited work schedule inconvenient, followed by the lack of separation between private and professional life for 50%, a lack of supervision and monitoring (26.5%), and a sense of self-isolation from the work environment (26.2%), added the same source.

64% of respondents estimate the need to invest in equipment materials to be able to work in remote mode, and 81% consider internet connection as an investment, showed the study results.

The provision of a workspace and the purchase of adapted computer equipment were also considered as expenses by respondents at 66% and 55% respectively, added the same source.

Telework is expected to become a new norm in Morocco, according to 89% of respondents. Of these respondents, 64.4% believe that telework should be alternated with face-to-face work, and 35.6% believe that this option should be permanent, further stated the same source.
