After the stabbing rampage that took place in Canada, suspect Myles Sanderson died due to ‘medical distress’ after his arrest.

The Royal Canadian Mounted Police Assistant Commissioner, Rhonda Blackmore, confirmed that the death on Wednesday.

Damien Sanderson, the second suspect was found dead a day after the attacks. Police believe that the injuries leading to his death are not self-inflicted.

Before Myles Sanderson’s arrest, it was reported that he stole a white Chevrolet avalanche truck.

Sightings of the vehicle were reported through over 20 calls, before authorities were able to apprehend him with a knife in his possession.

Once arrested, Sanderson went into medical distress.

Blackmore says that the cause of death will be thoroughly investigated.

Previously, Canadian authorities have said it is too early to speak to a motive while adding that “some of the victims may have been targeted and some may be random.”

“That’s still part of the investigation,” Blackmore said of the issue of motive. “That will be ongoing for quite some time. We haven’t established a motive at this point in time.”

Indigenous leaders pointed to a possible drug connection.

“This is the destruction we face when harmful illegal drugs invade our communities,” the Federation of Sovereign Indigenous Nations said.

On social media, many members of the community paid tribute to loved ones killed in the stabbing rampage.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said the attacks were shocking and heartbreaking.
