Two Moroccan diplomats were drugged and robbed by escorts in the Colombian capital of Bogota, local media reported.
Colombian media said that the diplomats had met the escorts online, before being drugged using Scopolamine.
Scopolamine, or Devil’s Breath, is a substance that is widely used by criminals in Colombia for its “zombifying” effect on victims, which renders them vulnerable to theft.
This drug causes intense delusional hallucinations, loss of control, amnesia, seizures, and respiratory depression.
According to Hespress sources, the Moroccan embassy in Bogota is following up on the incident with Colombian authorities.
According to the local Colombian media, the diplomats had spent the night with two women in an apartment where they were robbed of their belongings after inhaling scopolamine, also known as “thieves’ drugs.”
“We have a report that the foreign officials were victims of theft (at least two cell phones and a tablet) from two women with whom they spent the night,” said the Bogotá police chief, according to the same source.
“For now, we can not say that the officials had toxic substances in their bodies because we are still waiting for toxicological results to confirm or deny this hypothesis,” added the police chief.
“Among the officials, one is still in the hospital, without giving further details,” according to the same source.
Hespress sources said that as soon as the news came out, the department of the Ministry summoned the concerned parties.
