The number of unpaid workers registered exceeds 2 million people, according to the two-day International Forum on Social Protection held in Skhirat.

Most of those unpaid work in liberal and independent professions, including 840,000 farmers and peasants, 380,000 artisans, as well as about 300,000 self-entrepreneurs, and 250,000 traditional manufacturers and traders.

The 2-day event saw extensive discussions between several actors, whereby they approached the different aspects of the project, as part of royal workshops.

The forum’s program included an opening session, followed by sessions on multiple topics, mainly social protection reform in Morocco and in the world, and mainstreaming family benefits to protect against childhood risks towards a more comprehensive model.
