Agadir’s court of appeal issues its ruling on the Amine Chariz case
Friday 29 July 2022 - 15:38

The Agadir Court of appeal decided on Thursday, to convict one of the defendants in the case of the death of Amine Chariz, after the victim was violently assaulted back on February 5, 2022.

A strong hit to the head leads to serious cerebral trauma, causing Chariz to bleed internally and die at the young age of 22.

The court fined the convicted defendant of MAD 10,000 and six months in jail, while acquitting four other defendants in this case.

In regard to the subordinate civil action, it was decided to preserve the civil party’s right to file a compensation claim in accordance with the damage procedure, related to compensation for those injured in traffic accidents, by notifying the convicted accused of his right to appeal within ten days from the date of issuing the decision.

The Chariz family has taken to social media to express their sadness at the ruling, which they deemed unfair and insufficient.
