High schools in Ceuta are set to start teaching Islamic education for the first time, after only being taught at the primary level.
High school students in Ceuta will be able to choose the religious subject they would like to study starting next year, according to local media.
The new procedure comes 30 years after the Spanish government and the Islamic Commission of Spain signed an agreement granting students of the Muslim community the right to take Islamic lessons in all three educational stages, whether it be in private or public schools.
