The Moroccan Film Center (CCM) announced the launch of the 22nd edition of the National Film Festival (FNF) in Tangier this year, from September 16 to 24.
After a period of postponement due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the program of this 22nd edition of the FNF includes three competitions.
First are feature-length fiction films, the second category is for short fiction films and a third for feature-length documentaries, said the CCM in a statement.
Competing films must be produced within the period of the last edition of the FNF held from February 28 to March 7, 2020 until today.
Within the program, a “Film Market” will be organized, to provide an ideal space for discussion of topics concerning distribution and film exhibition in the era of new forms of media, namely streaming.
Meetings and professional exchanges will also be held to discuss the current state of national cinema and prospects for its development, with the presentation of a film review for the years 2020 and 2021, in parallel with many activities and conferences.
“The rules of the festival and registration forms are available on the CCM’s official website,” said the same source.
Considered as an important national film event, the 22nd FNF, which is planned in strict compliance with health regulations, has the appeal of an artistic and cultural event, with the objectives of promoting the development of Moroccan cinema.
The FNF aims to enhance the work of professionals in the sector and create a framework for meetings, interactions and exchanges.
