Restaurants belonging to the recently launched fast-food chain “Tasty and that’s it,” a substitute for McDonald’s have stopped serving fries.

Because there aren’t enough of the right variety of potatoes available, customers will need to order another side dish to go with their burgers and nuggets.

According to the business, fries will be back on the menu by the fall.

In opposition to the invasion of Ukraine, McDonald’s withdrew from Russia.

Following the Russian invasion of Ukraine, McDonald’s announced on May 16 its exit from the Russian market. The company decided to sell its stores in Russia completely to entrepreneur Alexander Govor.

The Russian brand replaced the McDonald’s logo ”M” with new symbols that represent two fries and a hamburger. The chain kept its old McDonald’s interior but removed any trace of its former name. Govor has taken over the franchise operation through his firm GiD LLC.

McDonald’s first restaurant in Soviet Moscow was launched in 1990, symbolizing Russia’s openness to the West. According to Reuters McDonald’s existence in Russia was of symbolic importance, a symbol of flourishing American capitalism as the Soviet Union fell.
