Temperatures will rise significantly and will exceed the monthly norm by 5 to 10 degrees, announced the General Directorate of Meteorology (DGM), explaining this phenomenon by the rise of a mass of dry and hot air from the south.

A heat wave, the ‘Chergui type’ is expected in Morocco from Friday to Sunday (July 8-10) in several provinces of Morocco, with temperatures ranging from 39 to 49 ° C, announced the DGM.

Temperatures will range between 46 and 49°C in Taroudant, Tata, Assa-Zag, Smara, Youssoufia, Sidi Bennour and the interior of the provinces of Safi, Essaouira, Agadir-Ida-Outanane, Inezgane-Ait Melloul and Guelmim, said the DGM in a red alert bulletin.

In addition, Ouezzane, Taounate, Moulay Yaacoub, Fez, El Hajeb, Meknes, Sefrou, Sidi Slimane, Khemisset, Sidi Kassem, Beni Mellal, Khénifra, Khouribga, Fquih Ben Saleh, Settat, Kelaâ des Sraghna, Essaouira, Chichaoua, Marrakech, Rhamna, Larache, Berrechid, Benslimane, Errachidia and Zagora, Tiznit, Chtouka-Ait Baha, Tan Tan, Sidi Ifni and the interior of the provinces of Salé, Skhirat-Témara, Nouasseur, Mediouna, El Jadida, Boujdour, Ousserd and Oued Eddahab will experience temperatures ranging from 39 to 45 ° C, said the DGM in another orange vigilance bulletin.
