Moroccan judoka Hassan Doukkali won the silver medal in the under 73 kg category on Thursday at the Mediterranean Games in Oran, after losing to Algerian Messaoud Redouane Dris in the final.
Doukkali (19), a bronze medalist at the African Championships last month, was leading but lost on ippon with the final 52 seconds remaining.
The Moroccan had ousted the Chipriote Kyprianos Andreou, in the round of 16, the Slovenian Martin Hojak (quarters), and the Tunisian Aleddine Ben Chalbi (halves).
