The overall turnover of Morocco’s National Railway Office (ONCF) amounted to nearly MAD 3.63 billion in 2021, up 29% compared to 2020.

This increase is due to the performance of the passenger activity which has returned to growth and resilient freight activities, said ONCF in a statement after holding its Board of Directors meeting this Thursday in Rabat, chaired by the Minister of Transport and Logistics, Mohammed Abdeljalil.

Regarding the operating result, ONCF has recorded an improvement of MAD 551 million compared to 2020 and this, thanks to the resilience of activities and actions to control costs and maintain industrial and commercial performance, said the same source.

The investment has focused, for its part, on an amount of MAD 1.4 billion in 2021 and has been devoted solely to the completion of ongoing operations and priority projects to maintain safety and quality of service.

The ONCF will continue its investment effort by activating the various projects necessary to maintain performance and accelerate studies on development projects, concludes the statement.
