The World Health Organization said it had reported over 3,400 confirmed Monkeypox cases, mostly detected in Europe, and one death.

The Organization stated that since June 17, it has reported 1,310 new Monkeypox cases, with 8 new countries reporting cases of the virus.

Additionally, the WHO’s emergency committee has serious concerns about the current outbreak, and also noted several gaps in the current data on the viral disease.

The World Health Organization had previously stated that monkeypox had not yet reached the status of a global health emergency.

Earlier this month, Morocco identified its first case of monkeypox, while all the other suspected cases turned out to be negative, according to the Health Ministry.
