ANRE organizes high-level governance meetings on Energy Regulators in Marrakesh

The National Electricity Regulatory Authority (ANRE) will be hosting a series of high-level Governance meetings for the Association of Mediterranean Energy Regulators (MEDREG) from 21st to 24th of June in Marrakech, Morocco.

In the margin of these meetings for the first time in Morocco, ANRE organizes the conference of the President’s Workshop. The event will take place on the morning of the 23rd of June 2022, in Marrakech. The conference will be marked by the participation of the Energy regulators’ Presidents from the Mediterranean region and the Key actors of the Moroccan energy sector.

MEDREG is the Association of Mediterranean Energy Regulators established in 2007, bringing together 27 energy regulators from 22 countries, spanning the European Union, the Balkans, and North Africa. Its mission is to empower Mediterranean regulators for a common energy future. MEDREG works to support the creation of a transparent, stable, and harmonized regulatory framework and foster market integration and infrastructure investment in the Mediterranean region.

Policy and regulatory frameworks at the national, regional, and global levels are of paramount importance to provide the necessary basis for energy activities to meet national and international sustainable development goals. Thus, the theme of the conference is “A Coherent Regulation to Accelerate the Energy Transition under Security of Supply concerns”.
