The World Health Organization (WHO) said on Friday that the Omicron vaccine can be used as a booster shot to boost protection.

The Omicron-adapted vaccine can represent a complementary booster, after the two first shots of the different anti-COVID-19 products.

Additionally, the Omicron variant is still dominating cases around the world, with its sub-variants BA.1, BA.2, and BA.5 resulting in the recent spike in cases.

BA.5 is currently dominating new infections in Morocco, according to the Scientific Committee on COVID-19.

Cases are increasing in Morocco, with 1,157 new infections reported on average each day, representing 12% of the peak, said Reuters in its latest COVID Tracker released this Saturday.
