Morocco’s flag carrier, Royal Air Maroc (RAM) said on Tuesday that it will increase its flights for the summer season.
The national airline stated that it will offer 6 million seats on 80 air routes across 4 continents.
Overall, 9 Moroccan airports will be connected to 77 others around the world.
This update will enable the company to rebound from the pandemic’s effects on the economy.
Additionally, RAM launched recently new routes, including Tel Aviv and Dubai, as the airline intends to cover almost 90% of its pre-covid activity.
In fact, RAM will offer over 2.2 million seats, the equivalent to 437 flights a week, linking 9 Moroccan airports to 32 airports in Europe, as it sees most Moroccans living abroad are established there.
For France, it will operate 400 weekly flights on 28 air routes linking 9 airports in France to 8 Moroccan cities, said RAM.
In the rest of Europe, 43 air routes will connect 22 European airports to 8 Moroccan cities, with a capacity of over 1.3 million seats.
The airline will therefore operate 237 flights a week in order to respond to the strong demand for the summer season.
The routes linking Casablanca to Barcelona, Bologna, Malaga, Madrid, Brussels, and Milan will be increased to a double daily flight.
In Africa, RAM will also strengthen its network, increasing to 25 air routes and an offer of 900,000 seats, bringing up total flights to 110 a week.
The company aims to recover its pre-covid activity, adding nearly 500,000 flight seats for North America, and 200,000 for the Middle East, according to the same source.
Morocco’s National Airports Office (ONDA) expects the predicted average recovery rate of passenger traffic in Morocco’s airports, compared to 2019, is 75%,” the office said in a recent press release, estimating that the introduction of further flights will boost activity.
