The Middle East section of Forbes magazine this week released its list of the 50 Health Leaders in the Middle East and North Africa region for the year 2022.
It features the region’s “most influential and innovative leaders from across the healthcare ecosystem,” and the leaders of the “largest and most influential healthcare organizations in the region.”
Morocco is represented on this list by Lamia Tazi, Chairman of the Board and CEO of Sothema, coming in at 28th place.
As well as a vice-president of the Moroccan Federation of Pharmaceutical Industry and Innovation (FMIIP) and the Moroccan Association of Exporters (ASMEX), she is one of the five women presented by the magazine in this ranking.
Lamia Tazi joined Sothema in 1998, first as a pharmacist, then as general manager and responsible pharmacist before being appointed CEO of Sothema in January 2020. She is also a Doctor of Pharmacy from the University of Liege.
According to Forbes Middle East, “pharmaceutical company executives dominate the list with 20 entries, followed by the heads of the largest hospitals in the MENA region.”
