Portuguese football star Cristiano Ronaldo apologized, following the spread of a video of him throwing a fan’s mobile phone to the ground after his Manchester United team lost to Everton 0-1 Saturday.
Ronaldo appeared to throw a fan’s phone to the ground as he was heading to the changing rooms.
Additionally, Sky Sports revealed that Manchester United is investigating the incident.
“It’s never easy to deal with emotions in difficult moments such as the one we are facing,” Ronaldo wrote in an Instagram post.
“Nevertheless, we always have to be respectful, patient, and set the example for all youngsters who love the beautiful game,” he added.
Ronaldo further stated in the same Instagram post, “I would like to apologize for my outburst and, if possible, I would like to invite this supporter to watch a game at Old Trafford as a sign of fair-play and sportsmanship,” he continued.
