The National Health Safety Office for Food Products (ONSSA) decided to strengthen the control of Buitoni brand of frozen pizza Fresh Up at import and border checkpoints.

ONSSA, affiliated with the Ministry of Agriculture said in response to Hespress’ question that this pizza contains a bacteria that is harmful for children and was removed from European markets.

“The pizza does not conform to sanitary standards, as it was produced between June of last year until last March 28,” the Office added.

It is expected that the office, which implements the government’s policy to ensure health safety, will start to intensify control from raw materials to the final consumer, and will conduct its investigations at all points of sale and distribution.
