The Holy month of Ramadan is going to be nothing short of interesting for the government of Aziz Akhannouch. The latter, according to Assabah, would have received the green light to begin choosing replacements for six to eight ministers on his team due to their poor performance since the government’s inauguration last October.
Assabah adds that these ministers come from different backgrounds; men and women, newbies but also veterans of the Moroccan political ring. Nevertheless, what they have in common, says the same source, is an accumulation of communication failures within their “dead” ministries and their slow work rhythm.
Aziz Akhannouch expressed his intention to hunt down “new profiles capable of interacting and reacting efficiently in crisis management,” which, according to Assabah, gives the strong impression that the political approach was somewhat absent in the way the concerned ministries have been managed so far and the technocratic approach failed.
The government overhaul, Assabah points out, will not only affect newly created departments but also sovereign and established ministries whose actions might not have been aligned with the governmental roadmap.
According to Assabah, this government overhaul will have the merit of bringing more cohesion to the table, in addition to strengthening the harmony of the team and its effectiveness in order to meet expectations.
