Eighty-four people, including 56 minors, were arrested last Sunday following the riots that marked the soccer match between Hassania Agadir and Al-Fatah Ribati.
The suspects are likely to be charged with participating in sports violence, possession of weapons and drugs, public drunkenness, stone-throwing, and public property damage.
This incident resulted in causalities among public forces, including the injury of five members of the National Security and two members of the rest of the public forces, in addition to material damage, including a vehicle of the National Security.
A judicial investigation by the authorities of Agadir, under the supervision of the prosecutor’s office, is ongoing to identify the circumstances that led to the riots and determine the level of implication of the suspects.
Sunday, 13 March, riots ensued at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat between football fans from the Royal Army Club and Maghreb Fez, leading up to 160 arrests, 90 of whom were minors.
Stadiums are open following a governmental decision on Thursday, 24 February, after a closure that lasted over 20 months due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
